Privacy notice
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Websteer collects very little about you. We have no accounts, no mailing list, no tracking cookies and no advertising tools on this website.
Who we are
Websteer is run by Adrian Webster, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Adrian is the “controller” of any personal information described here. Contact: hello@websteer.co.uk.
What we collect and why
| What | When | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages requested, time of visit | Every visit, automatically | To deliver the website securely and keep it running | Legitimate interests |
| Your name, email address and what you write | Only if you email us | To reply to you | Legitimate interests, or taking steps towards a contract you ask for |
Our message personalisation tool works entirely in your own browser. Names and words you type into it are not sent to us or stored.
We do not sell anything through this website yet. When we do, we will update this notice before sales open.
Who we share it with
- Netlify, which hosts this website and keeps short-term server logs. See Netlify’s privacy statement.
- Google Fonts. Our fonts load from Google’s servers, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
- Namecheap and Google (Gmail), if you email us. Namecheap forwards mail sent to hello@websteer.co.uk to our Gmail inbox. See Namecheap’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.
We do not sell your information or share it for marketing. Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as UK-approved contract clauses.
How long we keep it
- Emails: up to 2 years after our last contact, then deleted.
- Server logs: kept by Netlify for its standard period; we do not keep copies.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop or limit using it, or give you a copy in a portable form. You can also object to us using it. Email hello@websteer.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We will update this notice when what we collect changes, for example when we open sales. The date at the top shows the latest version.
